The professional photographers choice*
Your pre-wedding photoshoot should capture the happiest moment of your life. It is a time for celebration as you embark on a new chapter in your lives together. These family heirlooms should not only capture how great you look but capture how you felt at that special moment.
Few can capture pre-weddings with a cinematic style and artistic ability than Kurt Vinion. A former magazine and portrait photographer, Kurt is well known for his use of light as well as for getting couples to feel comfortable with the creative process. The results: images that feel authentic.
Many images featured here are from Prague, Venice, Vienna, Rome, Hong Kong, and elsewhere. Also of note, as every couple is unique, we tailor our photography style to match your taste. Some couples are more refined and prefer a cleaner, posed aesthetic while others want a more modern, moodier, edgier, and natural approach. While others want a variety of styles and looks - in short everything! The key, taking the time to get to know you to create photos in your style. This is why couples should always hire a professional who is willing to work with them as well as get to know them.
But don't just take our word for it, look around at more galleries as well as read the many reviews from real couples.

Pricing information
We have all heard of the horror stories of couples who chose their pre-wedding or overseas photoshoot photographer based on price and regretting it later. It can lead to a lot of embarrassment and heartbreak. Your pre-wedding portrait session is an investment in time, money, and emotion - hiring a professional photographer to ensure its success is crucial. After all - your photos are all that you will have to show from your overseas pre-wedding photography experience.
So how do you know if you are getting a real professional? Here are some helpful tips.
Budget
Budget pre-wedding photographers are between 50-100 EUR per hour. They are either still learning their craft or are hustling to make a bit of money on the side. They rarely have backup equipment or the expertise to handle every situation. Budget photographers lack the skills and experience of professional photographers regarding retouching, lighting, posing couples, making them feel comfortable, etc. As their price is low, so must the client's expectations. You can find 100's of photographers at the low end of the pre-wedding photography market anywhere in the world.
Talented & reliable pre-wedding photographers charge anywhere from 125-250 EUR per hour. These are the seasoned professionals who create quality as opposed to quantity. The discrepancy in this price range can be due to multiple factors, such as photographers from the East (Ukraine, Russia, etc,.) who are not living locally or paying taxes. Other factors can be the many part-timers who undercut the market for the experience. Some of these photographers may retouch your photos. The question is what level of retouching?
As the client, you should always ask to see examples if this is not clear by the quality of imagery on their website. For younger photographers retouching can be as simple as adding a lightroom filter. While others do no retouching at all.
The reality is professional photographers should be able to remove wrinkles, shadows, and inconsistent colors, brighten teeth (and yes the color of your eyes), and make sure your skin looks flawless with no tan lines, etc. Budget and mid-range pre-wedding photographers usually will not do this kind of work as they are competing only on price.
You can, of course, find higher-priced pre-wedding photographers at the higher end. You can also expect the following in their collections: hair & makeup, outfits, vans, and a lighting crew. As the sky is the limit on the high end it is really up to you how much you are willing to invest.
Best Approach
So what is the best approach to ensure you have the best pre-wedding photography experience?
1st you should always take the time to review sample galleries. It is not enough to view a portfolio of 20-30 of the photographer's best photos from many couples. By viewing 30-40 or even 50 images from every couple's gallery you will have a more honest appraisal of your photographer's ability.
2nd Retouching!
How much retouching do they provide? Knowing that many of these images will be shown on large screens or printed - means that these images must be up to a higher standard. Retouching takes time - in fact, a lot of time - especially if the ladies need a little bit of help on those curves or unsightly wrinkles. Or if you wish to remove people in your background who are ruining your images. Having a photographer who will take the time to remove distractions commonly found in images is a must-have.
3rd Ask about their crew. For example, does the photographer work as a one-man operation? Or does he/she have a crew of assistants? Does your photographer capture only daytime motifs (scenes)? Or can they create nighttime images and portraits?
4th What will you receive as part of your collection? Does your photographer provide high-resolution files? If so what are the sizes of those high-resolution files? For many couples in Asia having the largest file possible to show up beautifully on those large screens is a must.
5th What is the turnaround time? This can be tricky for some couples who are planning a last-minute session. So always check as there is no point in hiring a photographer who can not promise to turn around your retouched files in time.
Conclusion
The real reason why so many photographers call themselves pre-wedding or overseas photoshoot photographers? It is because they think it is a quick way to make money. So please be smart. Ask as many questions as you feel are needed. If your photographer can not be bothered to meet with you in person or online to answer your questions - perhaps they are not the right fit.
If you would like to discuss a possible session, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Every couple is unique, and so should their pre-wedding photography.
