newlyweds enjoying the sunset at the Troja Palace

Aliona & John had fallen in love with Prague on a prior visit and had decided that when they marry it would be here. On the day of they had a beautiful wedding ceremony in Mala Strana followed by a private boat ride up to the Troja Palace. The venue of choice for their lavish dinner, dancing and celebrating. It is one of Prague's most visually stunning and iconic locations.

This portrait of them was a bit unplanned as they had an unusually busy evening of events planned by the wedding coordinator. But as the sky started to flare I asked them if they would be interested in stepping out. With me as their excuse we quickly went outside and for a few moments as they had the grounds to themselves. Amongst the portraits there were also a few wonderful unscripted moments. Such as this simple yet whimisical images of a bride & groom having an impromptu dance on - the evening they became husband and wife.
