Jen + Dennis traveled over from New York City for their stylish Prague pre wedding shoot

There was no doubt that Jen & Dennis who traveled over from New York City were going to have a stunning session as they looked very much like models in their very stylish wedding attire. Plus, woman who wear the birdcage veil look quite sexy and Jen easily pulled this look off.

As we simply did not wish to be surrounded by the throngs of camera wielding tourists in the centre, the peaceful oasis of Prague Castle and its sumptuous gardens were our starting points. Jen & Dennis very much enjoyed the castle gardens and especially the breath taking views, in fact we probably could have stayed there all day long, but we had many places to visit on our tour.

An old tilt shift lens was used to capture the dreamy look of our super stylish & sexy couple at St. Vitus Cathedral and especially those beautiful portraits of them sitting overlooking Mala Strana as the last rays of light ebbed.

Later a quick walk down to Mala Strana for a very stylish outfit change was in order before heading out once more to capture Jen & Dennis enjoying other locations such as the Charles Bridge and of course our final destination – the Astronomical clock. It was in essence a truly beautiful day and evening. A wish or two was even made atop the Charles Bridge in a very historic spot and unlike the many others they knew how to make that wish come true 😉

What I really enjoyed about Jen & Denis besides their warm and fun personalities and seeing their selection of chosen images: images that are more natural, spontaneous and real. And the second best part? The feedback:

When you have two good looking Americans who travel over from Chicago to have an E-Session or a Lifestyle portrait session you know you are in for a good time. T&M wanted a more relaxed, yet artistic session and I was very happy to show them some of my favorite locations.

Truth be told, our weather was not great, but that was ok as it lends itself to a more soft dreamy pastel look – plus an old dusty tilt shift lens helps add to the overall look. The locations: the usual, visually stunning, atmospheric, historic and magical locations that make this city so unforgettable.

What I enjoyed about working with these two, how excited they were when I took them to places that they had not visited before and how easy going they were.

And from the lovely lady herself: The pictures look amazing! Makes me wish I was a fashion blogger so I could have more reasons to fly to Prague and do more sessions with you. Huge thanks to you and Zbynek!

The best part of being a professional photographer, knowing that the images created will be cherished and appreciated for generations. Thank you to T&M, I look forward to catching up with the two of you one day in the future.

Castle Konopiste wedding / Oksana & Vladislav wedding day photography

Castle Konopiste wedding / Oksana & Vladislav wedding day photography

Oksana & Vladislav chose the stunning Konopiste Castle for their destination wedding in Prague. Originally from Russia, they wanted a special wedding for their family & friends and this stunning castle in the Czech countryside did not disappoint.

The castle was built about 7 centuries ago in a French Gothic style and has a stunning collection of tapestries, furniture, hunting memorabilia and of course truly stunning details that set this castle apart from the many others. Konopiste also served as the last residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the Austrian-Hungarian throne. I was told that he bullet that killed him is actually held their in the collection. Konopiste has also served in several famous films such as The Illusionist and to be able to shoot inside in some of its storied halls and rooms are a real treat.

After their wedding ceremony at the castle was over, we were given a private tour of the many stunning rooms and we were allowed to use a few of these rooms for a very quick portrait session. Obviously setting up lights and moving around furniture is a bit difficult so we kept it very simple under the incredible frescoes and chandeliers. Afterwards a few rounds of drinks and sweets with close family & friends on the castle grounds was in order before heading off to Prague.

Oksana & Vladislav were not too keen on the main tourists spots so we instead headed up to another magnificent castle: Prague Castle. I personally think for most couples that simply want to enjoy their first time together as husband and wife and without the large crowds this is always a wonderful idea. Oksana & Vladislav very much enjoyed the more laid back feeling and the calm atmosphere overlooking the bustling city below. After visiting many of the wonderful locations at the castle and the gardens we walked down and across to our last location of the day: the Astronomical Clock. For many couples having one last kiss under this historical clock is important and lets face it – it is also a great way to end our part of the portrait session as well.

All in all, a very peaceful, relaxed and truly beautiful summer day with one of our favorite couples from Russia: Oksana & Vladislav.
