This is one of my favorite weddings from the beautiful country of Ireland - a place I know very well and love dearly. The wedding location: the historic church at Multyfarnham Franciscan Friary located in the lush countryside.
The dinner / reception / party venue – the Middleton Park House Hotel - one of Ireland’s premier wedding venues. It is also one of my favorite wedding venues as it brings back so many happy memories of so many wonderful friends and weddings I have photographed there ( 4 in total now ).
The weather: well, this is Ireland which means glorious sunshine one minute and then gray and blustery rain the next. But seeing that this is Ireladn you also have those short rain showers that break up and then you are bathed in golden light. This is exactly what happened when the beautiful bride Mara was outside for a few moments for her bridal portrait session. Rain then Golden Light.
In Ireland, the official portraits are really a big deal as they really do cherish those stylish and elegant bride & groom portraits and the Middleton Park grounds provide a wonderful lush landscape that is picture perfect for these kinds of simple portraits.
And the people! As this is Ireland, you know you are going to have a wonderful, fun filled, emotional and very intimate time. The bonus: Mara and her lovely family are from Brazil so it was quite lively with her family & friends in attendance.
The couple: Mara & Billy, two very sweet, endearing, wonderful people who are obviously greatly loved and adored by so many.
In a word it was truly: beautiful.
One of my highlights, Mara & Billy dancing a jig(?) as Mara’s maid of honor and I were both fighting off a very friendly large dog who demanded to be photographed with them and nearly on them. Or the wonderful sentiments expressed during the speeches. Or simply driving through the heartbreakingly beautiful Irish countryside as we headed to County Westmeath in a convoy of cars happily honking their horns as the befuddled cows stood by watching. Or Mara sharing a huge hug with her next door neighbor… or the lads and Billy sharing a laugh in the snooker room.
Moments like these truly are priceless. I hope that when Mara & Billy review these images with their children one day that they will relive those wonderful memories and experience those emotions again – and I sincerely hope it brings a smile to their faces.
