As Prague rightfully takes its place as one of the most visited cities in Europe it is also one that is very busy with tourists throughout the year. For couples wishing to have an incredible portrait session atop its historic cobblestone streets and iconic locations you should consider getting up very early for those incredible 'night time' portrait sessions. The bonus, if you are blessed with gorgeous weather you may end up having one of those unforgettable sunrises that will surely leave a lasting impression.
Many of our elopement couples are seeking out these kinds of experiences and are greatly rewarded with incredible atmospheric images that you simply can not get after 10 am.
So how does it work? As the sun rises very early in the summer months you can expect your hair & makeup artists to arrive at 2am for the prep if it is a 4:30 am start for example at Prague Castle. After about 30 minutes of shooting we then head towards the Charles Bridge (or the riverside) for the Blue Hour and then we watch as the sky flares above the 'city of 100 spires.' As the sun starts to flare we focus on capturing real moments as our couples soak up the incredible golden light atmosphere. After a few more iconic locations we then travel to the Old Town Square -where there is usually a queue of Asian couples and photographers lined up to get their pictures captured under the Astronomical Clock.
After we catch the square we usually take a break at a local cafe before heading out for a few more locations. Then a return to the hotel for a retouch if time allows or a nap and then an early wedding ceremony.
This session is really a fantastic way to capture those incredible portraits on your wedding day. The bonus, you have a nap in the afternoon before a night out.
