This is one of those unforgettable weddings: full of emotions, many tears, lots of laughter and a long evening of dancing and partying befitting such a warm & wonderful couple. Anna & Sergio traveled down from Russia to have their intimate wedding at one of the most beautiful castles in Europe: the historic Castle Hluboka. Or known here as Castle Hluboka nad Vltavou. Situated several hours south of Prague it is one of Czechia’s most beautifully preserved castles – picture perfect for our couple who dreamed of a fairy tale wedding.
The day started off with Anna being pampered by her doting mother & sisters attending to her every needs. While Sergio, the successful businessman was still taking calls as he was getting prepared with his always smiling mother.
The weather started off gray with a forecast of light rain, but luckily the rain held off a bit. The only issue, keeping the many wandering tourists (with their prying lenses) away from the ceremony.
One of the highlights of their day took place moments before the ceremony: the 1st look. Seeing the smiles on their faces when they faced each other for the first time was simply priceless.
Off in the distance musicians began to play drawing us up to make the short walk up the hill overlooking the castle.
One of the most beautiful moments: Anna tearing up in happiness as Sergio - also tearing up - gently and very sweetly wiped away her tears.
The huge smiles on their face when they were introduced officially as Mr & Mrs as the family & friends cheered in delight was also wonderful to capture. After the group photos, champagne toasts and watching the video guy art directing them (he is a fantastic videographer) I asked if they wanted to get away from everyone for a few moments to enjoy a few quiet moments to themselves. They both smiled and the three of us walked away to a beautiful spot overlooking the castle.
Those fleeting moments when a couple can enjoy each others company alone are so rare and cherished on a day filled with many events, for these two - it just felt like the right thing to do.
No sooner did they arrive Sergio’s phone rang and he was back to conducting business. Anna was all smiles as she gave me the ‘what can you do’ look. Moments later Sergio made it up to her and that intimate sequence really captured how they felt. They also made up a wonderful sequence in their wedding book.
After our return and a few more celebratory drinks it was time to drive back to Prague, Maybach of course. Before we left, Anna asked me ‘if it was my wedding day where would I wish to go for one very special picture?’ Naturally I knew just the locale and we drove straight there.
Just as we arrived the sun finally came out and as it did the energy level of these two rose just as much leading to some impromptu dancing and lots of hugs of happiness.
After 15 minutes (thankfully we had 15) it was time to head to the Kaunicky Palace for their wedding dinner & reception. Suffice it to say it was a truly lavish gala befitting a king and his queen and rightfully so.
Their favorite images: the impromptu dancing, hugging, smiling, loving every moment that they experienced as the sun flared beautifully around in Prague on an unforgettable summer day!
