We had an inquiry recently where a wonderful couple asked us if we would be interested in doing a Pre-Wedding Portrait Session with them in Oxford. Well all I can say is, why not! We love to travel and if a couple is looking for beautiful Pre-Wedding Photography or even and Engagement Portrait session throughout Europe we would certainly be game. As we do so many wonderful Pre-Wedding Portrait Shoots in Prague and especially with so many couples from Asia and Hong Kong we are very happy to be expanding our coverage this year. And as many of my Hong Kong couples tell me ‘come to Hong Kong’ we are looking into coming there late this year!

When Tabitha & Russell showed up for their wedding at Prague’s Old Town Hall Russell was keeping to his promise of not seeing his bride before they wedded. Clutching a family heirloom with an amazing story of it’s own he was led slowly into the hall blindfolded while his bride was hidden from him while he took his place. The wait was worth it as Tabitha emerged into the ceremonial hall looking stunning in her wedding dress and pearls and as you can see Russell was very pleased indeed.

I have photographed many weddings here in Prague, but Tabitha & Russell’s will stand out for a very long time – it was truly beautiful. Whether it was the wonderful and unexpected song performed by Tabitha after she exchanged her vows with Russell that left several people in the ceremonial hall in tears. Or their first dance as husband and wife under the astronomical clock with a beautiful guitar and vocal accompaniment (music from the Once soundtrack). Or their thoughtfulness in bringing candies and cookies to the surprised people in the square when they emerged as husband and wife for the first time. It was truly an unforgettable wedding day – especially as they danced under Prague’s Orloj with many tourists capturing the beautiful moment with their own cameras or applauding them on for more.

It is couples like Tabitha & Russell that make me feel truly lucky to have chosen wedding reportage as my new career path. Being able to photograph and tell stories of couple’s wedding days like Tabitha & Russell is simply a joy – one I rarely received as a magazine & wire photographer.

Yet, the one thing I will remember most is not only the amount of love and affection they truly have for each other, but how special their attention to details matter, such as a watch, pearls, a handcrafted wedding ring, a suitcase and especially how two people took the extra time to create a truly beautiful wedding day not only for themselves but for each other. It was that beautiful!

Beverly & Adam are really a sweet couple and being a part of their wedding day in Ireland as well as getting to know them and their many family & friends who were on hand during this beautiful day was a real treat.

It is not often I am asked to shoot a large Orthodox Jewish Wedding with photographers, Edmund Ross and Claire Durkin (who are two of my favorite photographers in Ireland)! So when Edmund asked if I was interested in coming up and being a part of his team I jumped at the chance.

Edmund Ross Studios is one of the oldest if not the oldest photo studio in Dublin and they are well known for creating some of the most beautiful traditional wedding photography in Ireland. Plus Edmund is a truly gifted photographer, one whom I always learn something new from and I always enjoy working with him.

When it comes to wedding photography Ireland is still a very traditional country so while Edmund & Claire concentrated on capturing their beautiful group shots, I was tasked with creating reportage images of this wonderful wedding day. Not an easy task when time is short and the wedding party is 500 plus people and there are many traditions that needed to be covered. But looking at the work created by the three of us on behalf of Beverly & Adam all I can say is Wow! They truly will have an incredible wedding album and I am very pleased to have contributed a small part to it.

The following images presented here are a small take from my coverage of their day and eventually Edmund Ross studios will have a new website and a blog and hopefully they will post their selection of images from this truly beautiful ceremony with it’s many traditions and of course some fantastic dancing. In fact the incredible dancing can be a post all of it’s own. And as they like to say: Mozeltoff!

Jason had a very big surprise for Bethany when she arrived to meet up with him in Prague: a stunning engagement ring!

And if that was not enough, his other surprise was a romantic engagement portrait session taken on the streets of Prague on a wonderful autumn night. Yes, southerners are that romantic!

As Jason and Bethany hail from the American south (like yours truly) I really wanted to do something very special for them - so an evening portrait session was planned. We do many sessions here but for me there is nothing more special than an evening session where you can relax and enjoy the solitude of Prague castle or some of our favorite cobblestone streets. Prague at night is truly romantic and unlike other cities that I have photographed in I simply love the atmosphere here. It is that special of a place especially when you have a wonderful couple like Bethany & Jason who really enjoyed their time.

In the end there were so many beautiful images that Martina and I had two very different edits (and came up with a mixture of both edits presented here). As you can see, we do things a bit differently with our engagement portrait sessions, and what truly matters is that a wonderful couple have a great time in a beautiful city on a very special night - as a photographer to capture the feeling of moments like this for a wonderful couple is the biggest reward of all!

To Bethany & Jason, it was a real pleasure creating these images on your behalf and I hope you receive a lifetime of joy out of them! I wish you both much love & success together! And I look forward to seeing you two again in the New Year!

Rita & Jim are simply one of my favorite couples I have worked with this year!

The idea was simple, create lots of stylish portraits (and especially lots of portraits of the stunning Rita) and to experience Prague on a beautiful fall day. So with four wardrobe changes and beautiful Prague weather we traveled around various locations. And as you can see they really enjoyed themselves and I truly enjoyed creating these images on their behalf.

To Rita & Jim, thank you both for choosing me to be your portrait photographer here in Prague! I hope you get a lifetime of enjoyment out of these beautiful images created on your behalf.

Congratulations to Niamh & Simon (one of our wonderful couples from Ireland) whose Chateau Mcely wedding photographed by yours truly will be featured in an upcoming issue of the Irish Wedding Magazine Confetti. We will let you know when the article posts on our blog!

Maria & Vladimir traveled down from Moscow with family & friends to marry at Prague’s historic Old Town Hall. After the ceremony we enjoyed a bit of time for some champagne before two very large limos and a Mercedes whisked the wedding party around to various locations around Prague as we created some stunning portraits of our newlyweds.

As you can see they are a fantastic couple and everyone was having a great time as we headed off for some portraits around Prague Castle.

Later after our portrait session in the heart of Mala Strana, Vladimir and Maria took out a small lock that they had engraved with their name and wedding date and walked over to a small bridge where many couples in Prague stop off to pronounce their love for each other. This is not altogether a new custom here in Prague but it is one that I particularly enjoy - especially as the location is within view of the wonderful Charles Bridge and is that much more romantic especially at night. I am sure years later when Maria & Vladimir return to Prague they will be making a small stop to see if their lucchetti is still right where they placed it.

To Maria & Vladimir, I wish you both much love and future success together! It was great finally meeting you two and being a part of your wonderful wedding day here in Prague! I truly hope you get a lifetime of enjoyment out of these images created on your behalf.
